XADM: Directory Replication not Available in Standard Edition

Microsoft Exchange Server, versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.5

SYMPTOMS

You are unable to set up a new Microsoft Exchange Directory Replication Connector over a Microsoft Exchange X.400 Connector or a Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Connector (IMC). This option is not available in the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program when you open the File menu and select New Other.

CAUSE

You are using the standard edition of Microsoft Exchange Server and you have not installed the Microsoft Exchange Connector on this Microsoft Exchange Server.

RESOLUTION

Install the Microsoft Exchange Connector on this Microsoft Exchange Server and any other Microsoft Exchange Server that you would like to have participate in directory replication. Alternatively, if you install the enterprise edition of Microsoft Exchange Server, you will have this option.
