XCLN: Cannot Send Encrypted Mail to DL with Hidden Recipients

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Microsoft Exchange client for Windows to send an Encrypted message to a Distribution List that contains a hidden recipient, the following error message will be displayed:

The advanced security operation failed. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Exchange clients listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Exchange Server 4.0 U.S. Service Pack 2.
