The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSMicrosoft Exchange connectors (for example, the Internet Mail Connector [IMC] and the AppleTalk message transfer agent [ATMTA]) change an incoming StuffIt Delux attachment (that is, type=.sitd) to the more basic version of StuffIt (that is, type=.sit!). This makes the file open incorrectly in the Microsoft Exchange Macintosh client. WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do one of the following:

STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Exchange version 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
