When you start the Microsoft Exchange Server information store, a server specific error message 4294966095 may be displayed.

The public information store database (the Pub.edb file) is in an inconsistent state.

Restore the information store from an online backup. Contact Microsoft Product Support Services for assistance if necessary.

To confirm the state of the database, run the following command at a command prompt on the Exchange Server computer:

edbutil /mh path\pub.edb |more

The 'state' of the database is displayed, and it is either consistent or inconsistent.
