SYMPTOMS
If the network link to a remote site fails on a server with links to
multiple remote sites using X.400 Connectors, the message transfer agent
(MTA) may stop processing messages to all remote sites.
CAUSEThe problem is due to the synchronous nature of the Microsoft Exchange MTA in versions 4.0 and 5.0. RESOLUTIONExchange Server 4.0A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.To resolve this problem, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix.
