SUMMARY
If you want to change the date format from mm/dd/yy to another format such as yyyy/mm/dd in the Outlook Calendaring or Tasks date field, you have to change the format through the Regional Settings tool in Control Panel.

To make the change:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and double-click Regional Settings.
- Click the Date tab.
- Change the Short Date Style field to your preferred format.
Outlook Calendaring and Tasks should now display the date field in your selected format.
