SUMMARY
Outlook 98 packages built with the Outlook Development Kit (ODK) from the Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 1 CD installs Outlook 98 with 128-bit encryption.
The CD labeled 0998 Part No. X03-91035 contains the following disclaimer:
Unlawful to export from the United States or Canada without an approved Department of Commerce export license.
The License.txt file found on the CD in the following location, En\Odk\En, contains the following additional information concerning the Export Restrictions.
IF YOU ACQUIRED MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 98 AS COMPONENT OF MICROSOFT EXCHANGE SERVER VERSION 5.0 OR 5.5, THE FOLLOWING TERMS APPLY TO YOU:
NOTE: If you do not have a valid license for Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0 or 5.5, you are not authorized to install, copy or use Microsoft Outlook 98 as a component to such Microsoft Exchange Server.
You are authorized to use Microsoft Outlook 98 (the "SOFTWARE") under the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement applicable to Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0 or 5.5, except as set forth below.
EXPORT RESTRICTIONS. The SOFTWARE is intended for distribution only in the United States and Canada. Export of the SOFTWARE from the United States is regulated under "EI controls" of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR, 15 CFR 730-744) of the U.S. Commerce Department, Bureau of Export Administration (BXA). A license is required to export the SOFTWARE outside the United States or Canada. You agree that you will not directly or indirectly, export or re-export the SOFTWARE (or portions thereof) to any country, other than Canada, or to any person, entity or end user subject to U.S. export restrictions without first obtaining a Commerce Department export license. You warrant and represent that neither the BXA nor any other U.S. federal agency has suspended, revoked or denied your export privileges.
If you need a 40-bit version of Outlook 98 built with the ODK, you should install and use an ODK other than the 128-bit version.
