XCLN: How to Generate a Synchronization Log in Outlook 98

ID: Q224306

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook Windows 95/98 client, version 8.5
  • Microsoft Outlook Windows NT client, version 8.5

SUMMARY

Outlook 98 does not generate a synchronization log in the Deleted Items folder each time a successful synchronization occurs.

If you enable the Synchronize all folders upon exiting option, a synchronization log will be created each time you exit Outlook, provided a change has occurred.

To enable synchronization options, on the Tools menu, click Options, and click the Mail Services tab.

MORE INFORMATION

A synchronization log will not be created during any of the "automatic" synchronization schedules when online or offline, nor will a Synchronize All Folders (F9). Synchronization logs are a troubleshooting mechanism and are not intended to be created everytime a synchronization occurs.
