XCLN: Copy Folder Design Loses Properties and Is Not Consistent With Copy Folder

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Exchange Server, versions 5.5, 5.5 SP1, 5.5 SP2
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000


SYMPTOMS

If you copy the design of a folder, the values of the following properties are not properly copied to the destination folder:

  • The Automatically generate Exchange views property.


  • The When Posting to this folder, use property.


  • The Only show views created for this folder property.


These properties need to be copied because they are part of the folder's design.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Office 2000 Service Release that contains this fix.
