XADM: Limitation Warning Message Has Wrong Words

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

In the Chinese Traditional (CHT) version of Exchange Server 5.5, the mailbox limitation warning message contains wrong words. The incorrect message states:

"您信箱的大小為"
The correct text is:
"您信箱的大小限制為"


CAUSE

The corresponding string in the Mdbsz.dll file is wrong.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 service pack that contains this fix.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Create a mailbox.


  2. Set the mailbox Information store storage limits as follows:


    3. Issue warning (K): 10
    Prohibit send (K): 20
    Prohibit send and receive (K): 30
  3. Set Storage Warnings Schedule in Information Store Site Configuration to Always.


  4. Log on to the mailbox with a CHT version of Outlook.


  5. Send a 100-KB message to yourself.


    6. You receive a warning message with the wrong words.
