ID: Q245205

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook Windows NT client, version 8.5
  • Microsoft Outlook Windows 95/98 client, version 8.5

SYMPTOMS

By default, the Microsoft Mail service and support files are not installed during the Microsoft Outlook 98 setup.

CAUSE

Outlook does not install and upgrade the Microsoft Mail service and support files on a computer if the service has not already been installed.

The three options that are available in the Outlook 98 Setup program are Internet Mail Only, Corporate or Workgroup, or No E-Mail.

The option that you select determines the mail configuration files that are downloaded during setup.

In the E-Mail Service Options dialog box, click Help during setup for more information.
