SYMPTOMSWhen you are using Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, you may notice that mail is backing up in connector queues. When you ping the destination server, you may receive either slow responses or complete timeouts. Also, Event Viewer may display the following events:
CAUSEThis behavior can occur because of network-related problems external to Exchange Server performance. When there is not enough network bandwidth for any additional traffic, the Message Transfer Agent is unable to create the necessary connections. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, troubleshoot network connectivity and bandwidth issues.
