SYMPTOMSThe Symptoms for version 3.0 are different from those for version 3.0b. In Visual FoxPro 3.0, the ToolTipText message does not display at all if it contains more than 50 characters. In Visual FoxPro 3.0b, however, the ToolTipText message displays the first 50 characters of the ToolTipText.
CAUSEThe ToolTipText message is limited to 50 characters in length.
WORKAROUNDIn both Visual FoxPro 3.0 and 3.0b, limit the length of the ToolTipText to fewer than 50 characters.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem has been fixed in Visual FoxPro 5.0 for Windows.
