SYMPTOMSWhen you start the Visual FoxPro for Macintosh Setup Wizard, the following message appears: Usually the Setup Wizard cannot find the ODBC Setup PPC Control Panel file. CAUSEThe Setup Wizard cannot locate some files because the names of the folders within the System folder are on a non-English Macintosh operating system. WORKAROUND
This workaround explains how to locate the Control Panel "ODBC Setup PPC,"
but you can apply it to any files affected by this problem.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this problem in the products listed above and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. MORE INFORMATIONWhen you build a set of disks for a PPC application, the Setup Wizard pulls files from the "System Folder:Control Panels" and "System Folder:Extensions" folders. It looks for all files that it might need for the distribution disks, even if you do not need them for your application. The options you select in the remaining steps of the Setup Wizard determine whether these files actually are placed on your distribution disks. Steps to Reproduce BehaviorYou can duplicate this behavior by moving the ODBC Setup PPC Control Panel from your Macintosh System Folder:Control Panels folder to your desktop, and then running the Setup Wizard.REFERENCESFor more information about ODBC files installed by Visual FoxPro 3.0b for Macintosh, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: Q152516 List of ODBC Files Installed During Setup Additional query words: VFoxMac kbdsd
