SYMPTOMS

When you synchronize a Handheld PC (H/PC) with a desktop computer, you may receive the following error message:

The message you are viewing has changed. If you make any changes to this copy and save them, you will overwrite the recent changes.
If you tap the H/PC screen anywhere except the OK button, the H/PC may stop responding (hang).


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if an e-mail message is open when you synchronize an H/PC with a desktop computer.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Task Manager dialog box.


  2. Tap Inbox, and then tap End Task.


  3. Close all open e-mail messages on the H/PC.


  4. Tap Start, tap Programs, tap Communication, and then tap ActiveSync.
