E-mail Addresses on the Cc and Bcc Lines Are Put on the To Line

SYMPTOMS

When you add an address to the Cc or Bcc lines of an e-mail message, the address may also be added to the To line of the message.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you add an address to the To line of an e-mail message before you add an address to the Cc or Bcc lines of the message.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use either of the following methods:

Add Addresses to the Cc and Bcc Lines Before You Add them to the To Line

To add addresses to the Cc and Bcc lines of an e-mail message before you add the addresses to the To line, follow these steps:
  1. Double-tap Inbox.


  2. On the Compose menu, tap New Message.


  3. Tap Cc or Bcc, and then tap Address Book on the Compose menu.


  4. Tap the e-mail address you want, and then tap OK.


  5. Repeat steps 3-4 until you add all the e-mail addresses you want, and then continue to the next step.


  6. Tap To, and then tap Address Book on the Compose menu.


  7. Tap the e-mail address you want, and then tap OK.


  8. Repeat steps 6-7 until you add all the e-mail addresses you want.


Manually Enter the Addresses You Want

To manually enter the addresses you want, follow these steps:
  1. Double-tap Inbox.


  2. On the Compose menu, tap New Message.


  3. Tap To, Cc, or Bcc, and then use the on-screen keyboard or the handwriting recognition feature to enter the e-mail address you want in the appropriate line.


  4. Repeat step 3 for each e-mail address you want to add.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows CE, version 2.0 for the Palm-size PC (P/PC).
