SUMMARY
This article describes how to create multiple partnerships between a
Handheld PC (H/PC) or a Palm-size PC (P/PC) and more than one desktop
computer running Windows CE Services.
MORE INFORMATION
Before you establish multiple partnerships with your H/PC or P/PC, please
read the following list of issues and suggestions.
When you use multiple partnerships:
- Configure the desktop computers to use the same synchronization
options.
- ActiveSync does not remove items from your mobile device when it is
configured to do so in the synchronization options.
- You cannot have different schedules on the desktop computers with which
you have a partnership.
- You cannot enable Inbox synchronization.
- You may get duplicate information if a remote Dial-Up Networking
connection already synchronizes the desktop computers.
- The desktop computer stores the configuration for its partnership.
To create multiple partnerships for an H/PC or P/PC, follow these steps:
- Create the initial partnership between a desktop computer and the H/PC
or P/PC.
NOTE: This first automatically created partnership is, by default, a
single partnership. As a result, you are not prompted for the type of
partnership you want. If you delete a partnership and then create a new
one on your desktop computer, and you plan to use a second desktop
computer, the first partnership you should create is a single
partnership. Only on the second desktop computer should you choose
a multiple partnership.
- Connect the H/PC or P/PC to a different desktop computer.
- When the New Mobile Device Detected dialog box is displayed, click
Synchronize.
- When the Multiple Partnership Synchronization dialog box is displayed,
click Multiple.
