Err Msg: Cannot Convert File Presentation. Class Not Registered

SYMPTOMS

When you copy a Pocket PowerPoint (.ppv) file from a desktop computer to a Handheld PC (H/PC), you may receive the following error message:

Cannot convert file presentation. Class not registered.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Pocket PowerPoint is not installed on the H/PC.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install Pocket PowerPoint on the H/PC. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Insert the Windows CE CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent the Windows CE Setup program from starting automatically.



2. On the desktop computer, double-click My Computer.



3. Right-click the Windows CE (CD-ROM drive) icon, and then click Explore.



4. Double-click the Optional Components folder.



5. Double-click the Setup Microsoft Pocket PowerPoint Version 1.0 folder.



6. Double-click the Setup.exe file. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Pocket PowerPoint.
