SYMPTOMS
When you connect a Palm-size PC (P/PC) with a desktop computer, you
may receive the following error message:
An error occurred while processing a Mobile Channel.
CAUSE
This issue can occur for any of the following reasons:
- The Channels component is not synchronized.
- Channels are not being given a high enough percentage of storage
memory.
- There is not enough allocated storage memory or program memory.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use any of the following methods:
Manually Synchronize the P/PC with the Desktop Computer
To synchronize the P/PC with the desktop computer, follow these steps:
- On the desktop computer, click Start, point to Programs, point to
Windows CE Services, and then click Mobile Devices.
- On the Tools menu, click Synchronize Now.
- Close the Mobile Devices window.
Increase the Percentage of Memory Allocated for Channels to Use
To increase the percentage of memory allocated for Channels to use,
follow these steps:
- On the P/PC, tap Start, and then tap Channels.
- Tap the command bar to show all menu names, and then tap Options on the
View menu.
- In the % Of Storage Memory box, tap or type the percentage of memory you
want to allocate for Channels.
- Tap OK.
Adjust the Memory Allocated for Storage and Programs
To adjust the amount of memory allocated for storage or programs, follow
these steps:
- Tap Start, tap Settings, and then tap System.
- On the Memory tab, move the Storage Memory/Program Memory slider to
allocate more storage or program memory. If you move the Storage
Memory/Program Memory slider to the right, you allocate more storage
memory. If you move the Storage Memory/Program Memory slider to the
left, you allocate more program memory.
- Tap OK.
