Windows CE Password Is Not Restored from Backup

• Microsoft Windows CE Services versions 2.0, 2.1
• Microsoft Windows CE version 2.0 for the Handheld PC
• Microsoft Windows CE version 2.0 for the Palm-size PC

SUMMARY

When you restore a Handheld PC (H/PC) or Palm-size PC (P/PC) from a backup using Windows CE Services, the password settings are not restored.

This behavior is by design.

To configure a password for your H/PC or P/PC, follow these steps:

1. Tap Start, tap Settings, and then tap Control Panel.



2. Double-tap Password, and then type your password in the Password and Confirm Password boxes.



3. If you want, tap the Enable Password Protection check box to select it, and then tap OK.



4. Close Control Panel.
