Synchronization Error When Connecting to a Mobile Device

SYMPTOMS

When you synchronize a desktop computer with a Handheld PC (H/PC), you may receive the following error message on the desktop computer:

Synchronization: Error

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the communications port on the desktop computer is not responding.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, restart the desktop computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
