SYMPTOMS

When you compose a handwritten document in Note Taker on a Palm-size PC (P/PC), the screen may scroll unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use two separate pen strokes to write a character on the last line on the screen.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, follow these steps to disable automatic scrolling in Note Taker:

  1. Tap Start, and then tap Note Taker.

  2. One the Tools menu, tap Options.

  3. On the General tab, tap the Scroll Upon Reaching Last Line check box to clear it, and then tap OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Note Taker interprets a pen stroke at the bottom of the screen as a command to scroll the screen if you pause more than 0.75 second between one stroke and the next. You cannot change the handwriting timer setting.
