To configure Windows CE Services to synchronize mobile channel information with a P/PC, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the P/PC from the desktop computer.


  2. On the desktop computer, use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later to subscribe to the mobile channel or mobile desktop component you want to use. To subscribe to a sample mobile channel, follow the instructions at the following Microsoft Web site:

  3. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Windows CE Services, and then click Mobile Devices.


  4. Double-click the P/PC icon.


  5. On the Tools menu, click ActiveSync Options.


  6. Click the Channel Item check box to select it.


  7. If you want to change the channel synchronization options, follow these steps:

    1. Click Options.


    2. If you want to synchronize specific channels, click Synchronize Only These Channels on the General tab, and then click the channels you want to synchronize.


    3. Click the Advanced tab.


    4. If you do not want to synchronize pictures and images, click the Synchronize Pictures And Images check box to clear it.


    5. If you do not want to synchronize sounds, click the Synchronize Sounds check box to clear it.


    6. Click OK.




  8. Click OK. The Initializing Synchronization window opens briefly.


  9. Connect the P/PC, and then synchronize it with the desktop computer.
