Temporary Folder Not Deleted Until After First Restart

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SideWinder game pad, version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

After you install the SideWinder game pad software, a folder named ~ms_gam~.tmp is left on your hard disk.


CAUSE

SideWinder game pad Setup creates a temporary folder in the root folder of drive C that contains the following six files:

  • _setup.exe


  • Setup.cfg


  • Setup.inf


  • Setup.lst


  • Setuplng.eng


  • Stpbmps.dll


This folder is not removed until you restart your computer.


RESOLUTION

To remove this folder, restart your computer after Setup is finished.


MORE INFORMATION

NOTE: You do not need to restart your computer to run the SideWinder game pad software after you install it.
