SideWinder 3D Pro Adversely Affects Mouse Movement

SYMPTOMS

When you attach the SideWinder 3D Pro for Macintosh to the Apple Desktop Bus (ADB), your mouse pointer may no longer move smoothly. Problems with mouse pointer movement may increase when you connect additional devices to the ADB.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the SideWinder 3D Pro is configured for joystick mode.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, configure the SideWinder 3D Pro for mouse (or absolute position) mode.

To do this, move the switch on the front of the SideWinder 3D Pro under the word "Microsoft" to the position with two black dots.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro for Macintosh, version 1.0.
