Green Callout Lines May Be Displayed Without the Device Image

SYMPTOMS

When you open SideWinder Profile Editor for a SideWinder game device, the green callout lines may appear, but the image of the device in the center may not.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because of slow screen redrawing rates, caused by either a slower processor or display adapter.

RESOLUTION

Eventually, the device image does appear. When it does, you can begin to program the device.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SideWinder Game Device Software, version 2.0.
