Error Message Uninstalling SideWinder Game Device Software

SYMPTOMS

When you uninstall the SideWinder Game Device software, you may receive one of the following error messages:

  • Microsoft SideWinder Game Device Software 2.0 Uninstall can't continue. Please close SideWinder Profile Activator, then restart Microsoft SideWinder Game Device Software 2.0 Uninstall.


  • Setup can't continue. Please close the Gaming Device Profiler, then restart Setup.



CAUSE

This behavior can occur if either SideWinder Profile Activator or SideWinder Profile Editor is running.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, quit SideWinder Profile Activator and SideWinder Profile Editor, and then try to uninstall again.
