SideWinder Status Is "Not Connected" When Using Diamond Sound Card

SYMPTOMS
When you open the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel, you may see
the following message in the Status column:
Not Connected
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you use a digital game controller that is
connected to a Diamond Multimedia Monster sound card game port.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Download the latest Diamond driver from the following Diamond Web
site:
http://www.diamondmm.com/products/drivers/monster-sound.html
Test to see if the issue is resolved. If the issue continues to occur,
proceed to the next step.
- Download the latest Microsoft SideWinder Game Controller
software.
