Additional Game Pads Listed in SideWinder Profile Activator

SYMPTOMS

When you start SideWinder Profile Activator, more game pads may be displayed in the Devices column than are connected to the computer.

CAUSE

Possible causes for this behavior include:

• Pressing the SideWinder game pad's mode button on and off while SideWinder Profile Activator is running.



• Plugging two SideWinder game pads together in a chain, and then connecting them to the computer without turning the computer off.



• Connecting a SideWinder Precision Pro joystick to the computer without turning the computer off.

RESOLUTION

To permanently remove these extra devices, remove and reinstall the SideWinder Game Device software. To remove the SideWinder Game Device software click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Hardware, point to SideWinder Game Devices, and then click Uninstall SideWinder Game Devices. To reinstall the software, insert the SideWinder Game Device software CD-ROM, and then follow the Setup instructions.

Before you attach or disconnect any gaming device, you should turn off the computer.
