Return To Center Force Does Not Work on the Test Forces Tab

SYMPTOMS

The Return To Center force effect may not work on the Test Forces tab in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel.

This behavior is by design.

You can configure the Return To Center force effect on the Settings tab in the Game Controllers tool. To do so, use the following steps:

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Double-click Game Controllers.

Click Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro, and then click Properties.

Move the Return To Center slider to the setting you want, place your hand around the SideWinder Force Feedback Pro joystick handle, and then move the SideWinder Force Feedback Pro joystick handle to test the force effect.

NOTE: The SideWinder Force Feedback Pro joystick has two optical sensors on the joystick handle that detect your hand. If you are not holding the joystick handle, it does not play the force feedback effects.
