SideWinder Err Msg: Unable to Load Properties Sheet

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to configure the Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro joystick using the Gaming Devices tool in Control Panel, you may see the following error message when you click Settings:

Unable to load properties sheet.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Joyprop.dll file is damaged or missing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the following steps:

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.



2. In the Named box, type "joyprop.dll" (without the quotation marks), and then click Find Now.



3. In the list of found files, right-click the Joyprop.dll file, and then click Delete.



4. Close the Find: Files Named Joyprop.dll window.
