SideWinder: Interstate 76 Quits After Opening Video Is Played

SYMPTOMS

When you start Interstate 76, a game included on the SideWinder Force Feedback Pro CD-ROM, the game may unexpectedly quit after the opening video clip is played.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur if an outdated version of ActiveMovie is installed on the computer, or if ActiveMovie is not installed.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove and then reinstall Interstate 76. When you are prompted to install DirectX 5.0, click Yes.


MORE INFORMATION

The DirectX 5.0 Setup program run by the SideWinder Force Feedback Pro installation program does not install ActiveMovie, but the DirectX 5.0 Setup program run by the Interstate 76 installation program installs an updated version of ActiveMovie that functions properly with the game.
