Pointer Drifts Across Screen if SideWinder 3D Pro Connected

SYMPTOMS

When you use a program in the Davidson and Associates' MathBlaster series, the pointer may drift or slowly move across the screen if a Microsoft SideWinder 3D Pro joystick is connected to the computer.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the MathBlaster series of programs is extremely sensitive to joytick movement.


RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disconnect the SideWinder 3D Pro joystick from the computer.


MORE INFORMATION

You may also be able to resolve this issue by downloading and installing the latest version of the SideWinder game device software, which includes an autocalibration feature that may prevent this behavior from occurring.
