MORE INFORMATION

To use the USB version of the SideWinder FreeStyle Pro game pad or SideWinder Precision Pro joystick, you need the following items:

  • Microsoft Windows 98 operating system.

  • An available USB port on the computer.

  • A SideWinder FreeStyle Pro game pad or a SideWinder Precision Pro joystick, USB version.

  • A USB adapter (included with the SideWinder FreeStyle Pro or SideWinder Precision Pro, USB version).

  • Microsoft SideWinder Game Controller software, version 3.0 or later.

NOTE: The USB adapter works only with a SideWinder USB game controller. Do not use the USB adapter to connect any other game controller to your computer. If you do so, you may damage both the game controller and the computer.

To identify the version of your SideWinder Precision Pro joystick, look at the product identification (PID) number on the bottom of the joystick. The first five digits of the PID number for the SideWinder Precision Pro, USB version, are 85791. The first five digits of the PID number for the original SideWinder Precision Pro are 97462.

NOTE: If the first five digits of the PID number for your joystick are 97462, you can only connect the joystick to the game port on your computer.

All versions of the SideWinder FreeStyle Pro are USB compatible.
