Files Copied to Hard Disk Are Not Removed if Setup Is Canceled

SYMPTOMS

If you cancel the installation of the Microsoft SideWinder Game Device or Game Controller software while the Setup program is installing files, the files already installed to the hard disk are not removed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you must manually remove the files copied to the hard disk. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Locate the folder on the hard disk containing the copied files.
   
   The default installation folder for the SideWinder Game Device software version 2.0 is

   
         <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Hardware\Game Devices 

   where <drive> is the hard disk on which Windows is installed.
   
   The default installation folder for the SideWinder Game Controller software version 3.0 is

   
         <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Hardware\Game Controllers 

   where <drive> is the hard disk on which Windows is installed.



2. Right-click the folder containing the copied files, and then click Delete.



3. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
