SideWinder 4.0: Keystrokes Displayed on Recorder Tab Do Not Match Keyboard Settings

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft SideWinder Game Controller software to record game actions, the keystrokes displayed on the recorder tab may not match your keyboard settings.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your keyboard language and regional settings do not match.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use the Keyboard tool in Control Panel to configure your keyboard language to match your regional settings:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.



2. Double-click Keyboard.



3. Click the Language tab.



4. In the Language box under Installed keyboard languages and layouts, click the region selected in the Regional Settings tool in Control Panel.
   
   If you do not know what setting is selected in the Regional Settings tool:



1. In Control Panel, double-click Regional Settings.



2. Note the setting selected in the box on the Regional Settings tab.



5. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.
