ID: Q243291

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft SideWinder Dual Strike, version 1.0
  • Microsoft SideWinder Game Controller software version 4.0

SUMMARY

The scheme file name extension for the Microsoft SideWinder Dual Strike game controller is .sws. The SideWinder Dual Strike can use schemes or profiles converted from the following SideWinder game controllers:

  • SideWinder Freestyle Pro, USB connection (.swy)
  • SideWinder Freestyle Pro, game port connection (.swx)
  • SideWinder game pad (.swg)
  • SideWinder Game Pad Pro (.swz)

MORE INFORMATION

The information included in a scheme or profile is converted differently based on the design of the game controller from which you are converting the scheme or profile. In certain cases, not all of the scheme or profile information can be converted from the original scheme or profile because of design differences between the game controllers.

For example, only the button names are converted if you convert a scheme from the SideWinder Dual Strike to the SideWinder Game Pad Pro.

After you convert a scheme or profile, use the settings on the Recorder and Settings tabs in the SideWinder Game Controller software to make any necessary changes to the scheme or profile.
