MNK Pro and MIK Pro: Media Player Does Not Appear in List

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro version 1.0


SYMPTOMS

When you press the Media Hot Key on the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro or Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro, the media player you want to use may not appear in the list.


CAUSE

This behavior can occur for any of the following reasons:

  • There are more than five media players installed on your computer.


  • You installed the media player after you installed the Microsoft IntelliType Pro software.


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, use the appropriate method.

Remove One or More Media Players

Remove one or more media players installed on the computer.

Remove and Reinstall the IntelliType Pro Software

Remove and then reinstall the IntelliType Pro software:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.


  3. Click Microsoft IntelliType Pro, and then click Add/Remove.


  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the IntelliType Pro software.


  5. Reinstall the IntelliType Pro software.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
