MNK Pro: How to Assign Your E-mail Program to the Mail Hot Key

This article describes how to assign your e-mail program to the Mail Hot Key on the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro.

To assign your e-mail program to the Mail Hot Key, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click Keyboard.


  3. Click the Hot Keys tab.


  4. Under Select a Hot Key, click Mail.


  5. Under Select a Mail Program, click Mail, and then click your e-mail program in the Mail box.


  6. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.


If you use an e-mail program that is not listed in the Mail box, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click Keyboard.


  3. Click the Hot Keys tab.


  4. Under Select a Hot Key, click Mail.


  5. Under Select a Mail Program, click Custom, and then click Select.


  6. To locate your e-mail program, use either of the following methods:


    • In the Start box, type the path and file name of the executable file for your e-mail program.


    • Click Browse, browse to the location of the executable file for your e-mail program, click the file, and then click Open.

  7. Click OK, and then click OK again.


  8. Close Control Panel.
