MNK Pro: Hot Keys Do Not Function on Windows 2000-based Computer

SYMPTOMS

The Hot Keys on the Microsoft keyboards listed at the beginning of this article may not function as expected or may not function at all.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you connect the keyboard to a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer.

The current version of the software provided with the Microsoft keyboards listed at the beginning of this article is not supported by Windows 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the Microsoft Intellitype Pro software version 1.1 (available in January 2000) from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft IntelliType Pro software version 1.0.

This problem was corrected in the Microsoft IntelliType Pro software version 1.1.
