Wheel Tab Is Unavailable When You Use an IBM Thinkpad

• Microsoft IntelliMouse version 1.0
• Microsoft IntelliPoint software version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

When you install the IntelliMouse and IntelliPoint 2.0 software on an IBM ThinkPad computer, the Wheel tab in the Mouse tool in Control Panel may be unavailable.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the built-in pointing device on the IBM ThinkPad 760CD or 760ED computer is enabled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, disable the built-in pointing device or connect the Microsoft pointing device to an available serial port. For information about how to disable the built-in pointing device, see the documentation provided with your computer or contact IBM.
