IntelliMouse: Cannot Pan Inside Annotation Box in Bookshelf 98

SYMPTOMS

When you add a Note to an article in Microsoft Bookshelf 98, you cannot use the IntelliMouse wheel to pan upward through text you type inside the Annotation box. The panning anchor does appear on the screen, but the text does not move.

CAUSE

Bookshelf 98 does not include native support for the IntelliMouse wheel, and the IntelliPoint software's Universal Scrolling feature is unable to implement IntelliMouse panning support in this part of the program.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, roll the IntelliMouse wheel to scroll up and down through text you type inside the Annotation box.
