SUMMARY
This article describes the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list
used by the Universal Scrolling feature in the IntelliPoint software
version 2.2 and later.
MORE INFORMATION
You can use the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list to specify which
programs you want to have the ability to scroll in using the wheel.
You may want to turn Universal Scrolling off in a program that uses the
wheel for other purposes. For example, in some programs rolling the wheel
allows you to zoom in and out in a document. If you want to be able to
use the wheel to zoom and not scroll, turn off Universal Scrolling for
that program.
By default, the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list contains a
list of programs that use the wheel to provide functionality other than
scrolling or that have known compatibility problems with the Universal
Scrolling feature.
To add a program to the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list, follow
these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Mouse, and then click the Wheel tab.
- In the Universal Scrolling area, click Exceptions.
- Click Add, and then locate the executable file for the program you
want to add.
- Click the program's executable file, and then click Open.
- Repeat steps 4-5 for each program you want to add to the list.
- When you finish adding programs to the list, click Close, and then
click OK.
- Close Control Panel.
To remove a program from the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list,
follow these steps:
- In the Exceptions For Universal Scrolling list, click the program you
want to remove.
- Click Remove. When you are prompted to confirm the removal of the
program, click Yes.
- Repeat steps 1-2 for each program you want to remove from the list.
- When you finish removing programs from the list, click Close, and then
click OK.
- Close Control Panel.
