IntelliPoint 2.0: "Invalid Page Fault" Using QuickVerse 4.0

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft IntelliPoint software version 2.0 and then attempt to use the search function in Parsons Technology QuickVerse 4.0, you receive an "invalid page fault" error message.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Point32.exe file included with the IntelliPoint 2.0 software is not compatible with QuickVerse 4.0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install the IntelliPoint 2.2a upgrade from the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed in the applies to section at the beginning of this article.
