IntelliPoint: Pointer Changes Appearance or Disappears in Document Border

SYMPTOMS

When you move your pointing device over the border in a document, the pointer may change appearance or disappear.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:

• You are using Microsoft Word 97.



• Your view is set to Page Layout or Online Layout.

RESOLUTION

You may be able to resolve this issue by selecting a different pointer scheme. To select a different pointer scheme:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.



2. Double-click Mouse.



3. On the Pointer tab in the Scheme box, click a different pointer scheme.



4. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
