IntelliPoint: Cordless Wheel Mouse Does Not Appear in List of Available Devices

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install a new or replacement mouse using the Add New Hardware tool in Control Panel, the Microsoft Cordless Wheel Mouse does not appear in the list of available devices.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, select the appropriate device in the following list to install the Cordless Wheel Mouse:

Microsoft Serial Mouse with Wheel (IntelliPoint)
Microsoft PS/2 Mouse with Wheel (IntelliPoint)
