Mac IntelliMouse: Does Not Work Properly When Connected to PCI USB Card

SYMPTOMS

When you connect a Microsoft USB IntelliMouse to the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port in your computer, you may receive a message indicating that the mouse has been detected as an unknown device or that there is insufficient power to operate the device.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the USB IntelliMouse is connected to a PCI-based USB card.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install the USB Adapter Card Support software update from the following Apple Web site:
