Microsoft Mouse Button Does Not Respond

SYMPTOMS

When you try to click or double-click your version 2.0 Microsoft Mouse, nothing happens.


CAUSE

This can occur if the mouse sensitivity is set too high.

If you have have ruled out software problems, you probably have a defective mouse. Your mouse may also be defective if you have to push harder than normal to produce a click or if the edges of your mouse button(s) are unresponsive.

NOTE: You may still hear a single- or double-clicking sound when you try to use a defective mouse.


WORKAROUND

Use the Mouse Manager to adjust the sensitivity of your mouse.

If that doesn't work and you think your mouse hardware is defective, call Microsoft Product Support Services at (425) 645-7030. If you are certain your mouse hardware is defective, call the Microsoft Sales Information Center (MSIC) at (800) 426-9400.
