The Microsoft Mouse driver for Windows (MOUSE.DRV) use the mouse initialization file (MOUSE.INI) to start mouse operations as described in this article.

  1. MOUSE.DRV reads the [mouse] section in the MOUSE.INI file and initializes the mouse attached to the port identified in the MouseType= entry.


  2. MOUSE.DRV reads the sensitivity and acceleration information and sets it in memory.


  3. MOUSE.DRV reads the [WindowsPointer] section to determine which cursor size to use and if pointer growth is enabled.
