SYMPTOMSIf the ActiveDesktop loads a page containing an ActiveX control and then the ActiveDesktop is turned off, the control is not released and the .OCX file for the control can not be deleted. If an attempt is made to delete the .OCX file, the following message will appear: Where XXXX is the name of the associated control. RESOLUTIONPresently the only way to force a release of the .ocx by ActiveDesktop is to logoff or reboot. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Additional query words:
